NN Dockyard Commands!!! It was Crown Maritime academy “CMA Cadets’ Day” at the Naval Dockyard Limited in Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday, 31st March, 2022. This was all to observe the all-important ‘once-a-semester’ Field-Trip. It is already attached to the learning and knowledge-delivery culture of Crown Maritime Academy, CMA.
Yes, that, her cadets on-board would have at least one (1) full day dedicated to the application of training and practicality of theory in an outdoor, off-campus, neutral but interrelated terrain at where sighting, touching, using and manipulating of the tools, equipment, plants and machineries in a hands-on, face-to-face, do-it-yourself, passion-for-practice atmosphere, all the cadets on this trip eventually concurred, “if you know it, you will practicalize it!!!” Truly! Truly!! Truly!!!
If you know it in the classroom, you will show it in the open practically! That’s true!! Even, the Rector of the Academy who also made the Trip to add quality and vitality to the activity with a high sense of responsibility, could not conceal his emotion when, after all the brain-storming, note-taking, questions and answers for hours, from unit-to-unit, section-to-section, division-to-division and formation-to-facilities of the military-owned maritime domain, as the head of the visiting team, he was ushered into the Officers’ Mess! It was time for him to cool down!! Of course!!! To relax at the Naval VIP Lounge? You guessed too well, as much I do.
You know our man, the Rector and, Emotion. Yes, highly emotional an adult!! Yes, the highly-elated Rector eventually informed the news media of how by conceiving, midwifing, operating and sustaining the shipyard, the Nigerian Navy (NN) has restored our nation’s lost maritime glory!!!
